How we [verify the data]

As of 2026-07-12, 8,924+ licences across 33 jurisdictions are cross-checked against official regulator registries and re-verified daily. Every data point is source-referenced. This page explains where the data comes from and how it is resolved.

Ground truth

Source layers

iGaming Operators does not invent facts — it aggregates and resolves public and licensed data into one structured, verifiable record per company. Three layers feed every profile:

1. Official regulator registries (the ground truth). Licence status, licence type and issue/expiry dates are taken directly from the gambling regulators themselves — including UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), Curaçao Gaming Control Board (CGB), Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen), Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden), Italian ADM and more, across 33 regulated markets. Where a regulator publishes a register, we read it at source; where a jurisdiction runs a modern SPA registry, a dedicated scraper mirrors it with change-detection so revocations and new licences are caught within a day.

2. Corporate & public filings. Company names, trading names, parent brands and corporate relationships are cross-checked against public company filings and the operators' own disclosures, then reconciled against the registry data.

3. Commercial signals. Market entry, awards, expansions and leadership moves are detected from public news and industry sources and dated, so a "deal signal" carries a verifiable origin and a timestamp.

Resolution

How companies are resolved & deduped

The hard part of iGaming data is that the same company appears differently across ~80 source pipelines — a licence name, a trading name, a parent-brand name. We resolve these into a single entity using an alias graph and confidence-scored corporate links, so one company is one record and its corporate network is explicit rather than guessed. Duplicates are collapsed by normalized name and domain; genuinely distinct companies with similar names stay separate.

Freshness

Verification cadence

Registry and signal data is re-verified daily. Because the commercial value of a licensing or leadership change decays within weeks, freshness is the point: the dataset is built to reflect the current state of each register, not a periodic snapshot. Aggregate figures on this site (licence counts, expiries, jurisdiction totals) are computed live from that verified data and are consistent across every page — the same number appears on the homepage, the jurisdiction pages and here.

What we do not do: we do not publish player-level data, and we do not operate any gambling service. iGaming Operators is a B2B market-intelligence and data provider — not a gambling operator, casino or sportsbook. It does not accept bets or process player funds.
